"Hosting our son's birthday at Corlears was a huge success! We did a science experiment party with Mad Science Show for Kids in the gym. We were so grateful for the large room, with clear separate spaces for the show, tables, and play. It was helpful to have kid-sized tables and chairs, as well as additional tables to set up food, gifts, and goodie bags. There was even an additional long bench-style table that we were able to use for slime-making. Plus, the gym equipment, rock wall, and some arts and crafts from the school kept the kids occupied before and after the science show. From planning to execution, the Corlears team made the process easy and smooth, with lots of communication and flexibility along the way."

How many children can I invite to a birthday party? Our base package includes capacity for up to 14 children plus the birthday child and all accompanying grown-ups. Additional headcount can be requested.

Do children need to be accompanied by a grown-up? Children ages 4 and below must be accompanied by an adult caregiver during the celebration.

Do you have A/V equipment? A/V setup is available as an add-on. We have speakers, wireless microphones, a mini mixing board that allows you to play music from a phone or laptop, and slideshow/video capability. Just let us know what you need and we'll see what we can do to support your vision!

How much time is allotted for a birthday party?

Our base package includes a two-hour birthday party, and additional time is available in 30-minute increments via add-on.

The hosting family may arrive up to one hour in advance of the scheduled start time, and earlier access can be arranged but may incur an additional fee.

After the party, one hour is allotted for cleanup. Exceeding this time may incur additional fees.

What is your deposit and refund policy?

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the final party cost is required to hold the date and time of your party.

The deposit is non-refundable. However, it can be transferred to another date and time, pending availability, up to 4 weeks prior to your party's original date. Within 4 weeks of your party's original date, the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Additionally, we are unable to provide refunds for any headcount changes less than 2 weeks before the party date.

Does my event need to be a birthday party? What if I have other rental needs?

Our convenient location makes Corlears School a great choice all kinds of events.

For example, our rooftop terrace can accommodate smaller gatherings like cocktail parties or casual dinners, and our multipurpose gym can host 100+ adults for conferences, trainings, and more. You may also choose to rent the gym for team sports, but keep in mind that it is designed for young children and the basketball hoop and climbing wall may not present much of a challenge for grown-ups!

How many staffers are on-site, and how do they help with setup and cleanup?

Two Corlears School staffers will be on-site during your party.

An event coordinator will lend a hand with setup, transitions, and ensuring everyone is having a great time. A facilities team member will also be available for any mid-party messes and post-event cleanup.

Depending on your choice of add-ons, additional vendor partners may also be on-site.

While you will have help with setup and cleanup, you are ultimately responsible for ensuring the timely removal of all decorations, personal items, and any event-related materials.

Does Corlears School provide the decorations?

We do not provide decorations as part of our base package. However, we are happy to help us make your theme come to life!

As part of our add-ons, we are happy to assist in procuring materials and helping you with setup on the day. Your party planning process can be as hands-on (or off!) as you need.

What kinds of entertainment do you provide? Entertainment is not included in our base rental package. However, through Learn. Play. Grow. and other community partnerships, we have a number of relationships with entertainment vendors, including Ramblin' Dan's Freewheelin' Band, Treasure Trunk Theatre, IGE Entertainment, and more. Let us know what you have in mind, and we'll do our best to help!

What facilities do we have access to? Our base package includes access to one classroom as your home base. As part of our add-ons you can also choose from our backyard, gym, an additional classroom, and even our rooftop.

Are parties only available to book on weekends? Naturally, as a school, rentals are mainly available on weekends. However, spaces may be available on select weekdays and times on a case-by-case basis — you can connect with the team at rentals@corlearsschool.org or via our inquiry form to let us know what you have in mind.
