Early Morning Child Care (Early Birds)
Corlears’ early morning drop off program, Early Birds, is for children 4 and up. Early Birds is a planned program and is supervised by Corlears staff. The group begins at 8:00 am on all school mornings and runs until 8:30 am with a flexible drop off at any time between 8:00- 8:30 am. At 8:30 am, the children are taken to their classrooms by the Early Birds group leader.
Activities such as games, arts and crafts, reading, sports, computer skills and story-telling are planned. The group will have a non-stressful transition into the school day.
Breakfast is not provided, but children are welcome to bring their breakfast with them and eat it during early morning group.
The charge for this service remains a weekly flat fee of $13.00/child. The fee is the same regardless of the amount of time spent in the group during a week (1-5 days). Parents attending Board or Committee meetings can leave their children at Early Birds for no charge.
Sign-up can be done in advance through the school receptionist.
After School Child Care
After School Child Care (ASCC) at Corlears is a time of free play and a chance to mix with friends from other classes or age groups. ASCC is available from 3:15 -5:45pm starting on the first day of classes and continuing throughout the year except for early dismissal days prior to holidays. Since children will have just completed a full day of school, the daily after school schedule will be relaxed. A nutritious snack will be provided, outdoor time will occur daily and special activities based on the children’s interests, will be scheduled periodically.
ASCC will be available on the first day of classes. Three and four year olds may also enter the group after the adjustment period has been completed and they are ready to handle the extended day.
Children attending an After School Specialty class will be able to join ASCC after the class. Homework help and indoor activities will be scheduled.
During the 2011-2012 school year the cost will be $34.00/day. Fee adjustments are made for Financial Aid families. Requests should be made through the Admissions office.
