We've Launched a Kindergarten!

We are excited to announce that Corlears will launch a stand-alone Kindergarten in the upcoming 2015-2016 school year. In addition, our preschool grade structure will have a stand-alone 2s and multi-age classrooms of 3s and 4s together. September 1st remains our cut-off date.

This is part of the many fantastic updates we are planning for Corlears, including an enriched Spanish language experience for students in all grades, as well as a major STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) education initiative.

Welcome to Corlears! As director of admissions and financial aid, I am often asked, “What makes Corlears different from other schools?” My response is that we are committed solely to young children, from 2 to 10, helping them build a strong foundation in academics, the arts, the sciences, and technology. We give our students numerous opportunities to exercise their curiosity, think deeply about their world, and develop the skills and knowledge that will enhance and empower their lives as they move on in their educational and professional careers.

We invite you to visit Corlears in action. Our spring tours are scheduled for April 14, 15, 21, and 22 at 8:45am. Please click here to reserve a spot.

  • Be a first-hand witness to children as they ask interesting questions, think creatively, and collaborate with each other and their teachers in their academic pursuits.
  • Observe the ways in which children develop the skills to lead others as they communicate with their older and younger peers and the adults in the school community.
  • Feel and hear the kindness and respect everyone at Corlears, from our receptionist to our head of school, model for our children.
  • Marvel at how poised, articulate, and self-aware our fifth grade school leaders are. Learn how prepared our graduates are academically and socially to attend some of the most challenging middle and upper schools throughout New York City.
Our admissions process is designed to advance your understanding of what a great school Corlears is for children. The process is also intended for us to learn about your family and your child. We look forward to meeting you and invite you to learn as much as you can about our innovative and exciting school.

Best wishes,

Anita Haber
