Dear Parents,
Welcome. As you embark on the process of selecting a school for your child we
encourage you to engage in the same type of activities as the student at our
school. Prepare yourself by reading through our literature and familiarizing
yourself with the philosophy and practice of our program. Education at
Corlears is based on the twin practices of inquiry and exploration. Take time
to visit the school and observe our classrooms in action. I am confident that
you will experience a range of dynamic learning activities an d quality interactions between children and adults. Ask
questions of our administrative staff until you feel confident that you
understand the nature of daily life at Corlears School
as well as the progression of the curriculum through the grades. Most
importantly, take the time for reflection.
As a progressive school, Corlears values the academic, social, and emotional
life of children. Our students are encouraged to observe, question, research,
and share their knowledge with others. From the age of four onward students
take regular outings into the city as they seek to understand their place in
the community and anchor their academic work in real life experiences.
For thirty-six years Corlears
School has had a
history of providing a strong academic base which allows students to choose a
