3/4’S Progam Overview

Doors open to the classroom at 9:00am. Morning activity stations are set up throughout the room in order to engage children at the beginning of the camp day. Parents and caregivers are welcome to stay in the classroom until morning meeting, which begins approximately at 9:15am. Please remember that some children may benefit from a quicker goodbye, which will help them more fluidly transition into the day.

Classroom Time

Each child needs to bring his or her own lunch from home. Corlears is a nut free environment so we ask that there are no nut products in lunches. The school provides the campers with a snack, for example, fruit, yogurt or pretzels. We ask that each camper bring a water bottle from home that they can leave in a designated cubby assigned by teachers on the first day of camp.

Rest time following lunch is an opportunity for the children to quiet their bodies and senses and to rest individually. Some children may really rest, while others may look at books or play quietly. The 3/4s may choose to bring a favorite stuffed animal, book, or blanket to have with them during rest time.

Camp-Wide Friday Activities

On Friday mornings after morning meeting, all Corlears campers gather together for age-appropriate activities, such as a dance party, singing, or making art presentations. This is a great opportunity for the children to interact with children from different classes.

The second Friday of each session will be theme day. Potential themes could include, “Color Day”, “Corlears Spirit Day”, “Time Machine Day”, or “Science Day”. Camp-wide activities are based on the theme. Each group will choose how to participate in the theme day.
